This Boston Gear XFCR20 coupling insert absorbs shock when added to a 3-jaw shaft coupling. It is made of rubber for resistance to oil and reducing noise at high speeds. This coupling insert combines with two FC20 3-jaw hubs (sold separately) to make a complete coupling, and no lubrication is needed after assembly.Flexible couplings are used to link two rotating shafts that are not aligned in order to transmit the rotational power, known as torque, from one shaft to the other.
