Clean out packed dirt and small stones with the pick, then use the trimming blade without changing tools. The curved blade then supports routine paring of the sole and bars. The blue layered handle is fastened with two rivets, printed with the Equine Care name, and finished with a notched brass topper at the handle end. Built mainly for horse hoof cleanup and trimming, it also serves cattle and other livestock around the barn. The intended users are farriers, farrier students and hoof trimmers, along with experienced horse or livestock owners trained in routine hoof care. Restrain the animal properly before starting and keep hands well clear of the blade. After each use, clear dirt from the pick, wipe the blade dry, and store the knife in a dry place so the pick and blade are ready for the next use. Equine Care builds hoof tools fo
