The J10S 1 HP shallow well jet pump is designed for above-ground residential water systems, cottages, lawn irrigation and pressure tank applications. Its cast iron pump housing provides a solid, serviceable structure for everyday water-system use. The single-phase 60 Hz motor supports 115V or 230V operation and is factory configured for 230V. Before installation, confirm the incoming supply voltage and set the motor accordingly. The built-in 30-50 PSI pressure switch supports automatic start and stop operation when the pump is installed with a properly sized pressure tank. A 1-1/4 in. NPT suction port and 1 in. NPT discharge port provide standard threaded connections for shallow well systems. For best performance, use an airtight suction line, install the appropriate foot valve or check valve, and avoid undersized piping that can increase friction loss. Prime the pump housing and suction line with clean water before the first startup, after service, or whenever prime is lost. Never run the pump dry.
