• FITS STIHL 030, 031, 031AV, 032 AND 032AV CHAINSAWS. When the rubber buffers harden, crack or collapse, the handle starts to shift under load and the saw shakes badly at idle and through the cut. This set replaces all four annular mounts that isolate the handle frame and handlebar from the engine, putting the anti-vibration system back the way it was designed to work.
• FOUR MOUNTS IN THE SET, everything the saw uses. Replaces Stihl 1113-790-9901, 1113-790-9910 and 1113-790-9920. Change all four at once. Mixing one new mount with three tired ones leaves the handle sitting out of square and makes the new part carry more than its share of the load.
• WHAT GOES WRONG. Rubber of this age takes a set. A buffer that has gone hard stops absorbing and starts transmitting, and one that has torn lets the handle move against the engine and wears the mounting holes oval. If your saw has more handle movement than it used to, or you can rock the handle by hand with the engine off, the buffers are finished.
• NOT THE SAME AS THE 041 BUFFERS. The 041, 041AV and 041 Farm Boss use a different mount series and this set will not fit them. Check that your saw is a 030, 031, 031AV, 032 or 032AV before ordering. Those five models share one anti-vibration system.
• WHILE YOU ARE IN THERE. This job has the handle off anyway, so look at the throttle linkage and trigger interlock for wear, check the fuel line where it passes through the tank grommet, and inspect the rear handle for cracks around the mounting bosses. New buffers on a cracked handle only mask the movement.
