• 12-PIECE MIXED SET 6 FOR 5V, 6 FOR 3.3V: Six MAX485 boards for 5V-logic microcontrollers, six MAX3485 for 3.3V-logic boards such as ESP32, STM32 and for Raspberry Pi. Match the board to your logic level instead of adding a level shifter. Half duplex, 32 nodes, runs to 1200 m.
• SINGLE-GPIO DIRECTION CONTROL RE AND DE PRE-BRIDGED: A 0 ohm link ties RE to DE, which is what nearly all RS-485 libraries expect, so published C++ examples run as written on a single GPIO. Desolder the link if you need RE and DE driven separately.
• WIRED FOR REAL BUS RUNS SCREW TERMINAL, EXTRA GND, TERMINATION: A 3-position screw terminal carries A, B and GND, so bus ground travels with the pair. A 120 ohm termination resistor is fitted on every board: keep it on the end nodes, desolder it in between.
• SPECIFIED, NOT GUESSED MARKED SILICON AND FULL SUPPORT PARTS: Marked MAX485ESA / MAX3485ESA SOIC-8 transceivers, not unmarked bulk parts. Plus 20k ohm A/B bias resistors, 10k ohm RO and DI pull-ups, 100nF + 10uF decoupling. 2.5 Mbps at 5V, 10 Mbps at 3.3V.
