Martin 42XL037 D-1 Style, 1/5" Pitch, Extra Light, 1/4 and 3/8" Wide Belts, 0.3125" Bore Timing Pulley
Key features
- Grooved design for applications requiring synchronous rotation
- Steel for resistance to wear
- Extra Light (XL) pitch profile for use with same-pitch trapezoidal tooth belts
- Stock bore, does not require use of a bushing
- Flangeless pulley for use where belt side thrust is not an issue
This Martin D-1 or D-2 type timing pulley has a 1/5" pitch, and is suitable for use with 1/4 and 3/8" wide Extra Light (XL) pitch profile trapezoidal tooth belt in power transmission applications that require synchronous rotation. This pulley has a plain bore and mounts to a drive shaft using setscrews. This flangeless pulley is used where belt side thrust is not an issue, and the steel construction resists wear. Timing pulleys are a type of drive pulley and are used in a wide range of mechanical and electronic drives, including automotive and printing industries.Pulley drive systems consist of two or more pulleys that connect with a belt to transmit mechanical power across greater distances than systems that use gears. Pulleys (sheaves) are available in different types: V-belt, timing, round, or flat. Pulleys must match the belts that connect them (timing pulleys with trapezoidal grooves require a belt with trapezoidal teeth) and engage either on the sides of the pulley flange (classical V-belts, narrow V-belts, or round belts), on the flat outer diameter of the pulley (flat belts), or in pulley grooves that match belt teeth (timing belts, synchronous belts, or curvilinear belts).
