This cap seals the filler neck of the radiator and works as a two-way valve, helping the cooling system hold the correct pressure. When pressure drops, coolant can boil off and the engine may run hot. Signs of a failing cap include air entering the system, low coolant, leaks, an overflowing reservoir, and an overheating engine.
